An epic night out?

If you guessed so, or anything similar, you’d be right on the money…except think better & more beautiful! Think of an epic night out, at an awesome restaurant, ordering the most decadent drinks & meals, & being served by the most gorgeous celebrities, all for one incredible cause, Cotlands

Chilli Jam Jars FTW!

“Serve for a cause” was an initiative that took place on the 29th of April at Primi Extreme Design Quarter in Fourways. As the name suggests, patrons like myself were served by various celebrities with a percentage of all proceeds for the night being donated to Cotlands Cotlands, first established in 1936 started as one act of kindness & now is a beacon of hope to thousands of vulnerable children in our beautiful country. Cotlands ethos is to help children grow & thrive in their formative years.  Have a look at their website & the amazing work they do, and if you can, please support them.

The new dynamic owners of Primi Extreme Design Quarter see any form of assistance & investment in our future generation as a cause close to their hearts & certainly pulled out all the stops by partnering with Cotlands. Celebrities such as Shashi Naidoo, John Owens, Sol Phenduka, Zavion Kotze & Shajar Khan served patrons for one day only. Breakfast, lunch & dinner saw a host of different celebs testing out their waitering skills at this lovely venue, serving for a cause. 

Donned up, we decided to have dinner at Primi & we were in for a treat.

Our waiters for the night were, Kamini Pather (Masterchef SA winner & radio personality), Shashi Naidoo (Model, TV presenter & businesswoman), Jaco Gerrits (Mr SA 2014 finalist, Entrepreneur & Innovator), Neetasha Singh (Model & TV presenter) & Amorie Pearson (Model & Fitness Athlete).  Even in aprons, they all looked incredible!

The gorgeous & friendly Kamini spent a bit of time chatting to us & even suggested a few options on the menu…they all looked delicious – we were spoilt for choice! I think Primi definitely needs to put that “chilli margarita” that she mentioned on their already  impressive menu  What a pleasure finally meeting you Kamini!

Shashi looked like she was having fun & was quoted on Instagram to say “back to my student job” She looked flawless, as always (even in those “designer” shoes Shashi 😉 ) & it was treat to see her friend, the very dapper Ryan Hignett there too.  We didn’t get the opportunity to chat to either one of them sadly, so here’s me hoping there will be a next time!

The lovely & funny Neetasha aimed to please ensuring we had our cutlery & that our orders were placed & we were comfortable. Thanks for the great service!

We didn’t get the opportunity to meet Amorie, however it’s fantastic to know that these celebs gave off their time for this worthy cause. 

So a few jam jars later, a delicious pasta & some wine (I’m such a sucker for La Motte) too, we decided to have some desert. After all whats a decadent meal in lovely company at the perfect venue, without a little desert 😉 The dashing Jaco came over for our orders & all three decided on cheesecake, us to savor at Primi & Jaco to take home after his “shift” ended. We almost had him convinced to try his hand at baking a creme brûlée however he convinced us cheesecake was the way to go, and was he right! The cheesecake tasted as delicious as it looked!

It was quite a feeling taking in all this beauty around us & at the same time knowing we were all making a difference just by having a fabulous time!

Like Primi Extreme Design Quarter on Face Book as they plan to host yet another exciting social responsibility event & I know you won’t want to miss out! Better yet, Pop by and try their menu & cheesecake for yourself – you won’t be disappointed.
